Introduction
Starting a successful copywriting business growth strategy doesn’t require a native English degree or a lifetime of marketing experience. Federico, an Italian engineering student turned high-ticket copywriter, proved this by scaling his income to over $10,000 per month within a year of starting. By focusing on simple, plain English and high-value SEO projects, he transitioned from local university life to living in a managed mansion with a circle of ambitious entrepreneurs. His journey highlights how moving from copywriting outreach strategies to closing multi-month retainers is possible for anyone with grit and the right mentor.
Founder Success Story QnA
Can you explain the recent win you shared in the copywriting channel?
I shared a copywriting win of 2.5k USD. It was about an SEO gig, an SEO project focused on writing a lot of blog posts for a brand I’m working with. My job was to make sure they appear on top when somebody is searching specific queries on Google. I got paid for that, and it was a great project.
Was that your first win or have you had others?
No, I have had other wins. I don’t share every single one because it sounds a little braggy, but they come often. I remember my first 1k win—that was crazy. In total, I believe I’ve had four or five major wins shared, but I get paid regularly now.
What would you say you average on a monthly basis at the moment?
It varies. Two months ago, I surpassed the 10k threshold. In December, I believe I went around 7.5k. It varies, but let’s say the range is between 5k and 10k per month.
What were you doing before joining the online school?
I was a university student studying engineering in Italy. I joined what was previously known as Hustlers University on December 26, 2021. I came across Andrew Tate and his message about masculinity and excellence really resonated with me. I saw he was a multi-millionaire for real, and for 50 bucks, I thought I would give it a try.
Did you choose copywriting straight away?
I listened to the welcoming material that said if you are cash poor and time rich, you should choose a specific path. I understood that copywriting was the thing for me. I stayed focused on that one campus. It takes you from knowing absolutely nothing, not even what the word means, to high-level funnels and deep psychology.
How many hours per day were you putting in when you first joined?
I am kind of obsessed with things. At first, it was maybe four hours a day because I had university stuff to do. But eventually, I decided to forget about traditional university and give everything I had to Hustlers University. I was doing research, listening to the Andrew (Professor) zoom calls, and talking to fellow students all day. When I am awake, I am working—maybe 12 hours a day.
How long did it take to get your first win?
It took exactly 35 days. I received my first payment in late January or February. I was nervous about asking for money back then. I asked for 300 bucks for a couple of emails. Looking back, I could have asked for 1k easily, but I was super nervous as a beginner. When the client said, “Send me the invoice,” I realized this was actually real.
Did the community have any effect on you?
Absolutely. The community is one of the biggest things. Back in my hometown in Italy, people with my mindset were rare. In high school and university, nobody wanted to talk about training or making money. Through The Real World, I met Nikolai, Belling, and Sad. Now, we all live together in a mansion as brothers. We compete in a friendly way, we train together, and we build businesses. It is powerful energy.
What differences did you see between Hustlers University and The Real World?
Hustlers University got me out of university; The Real World got me a mansion. The new platform is like the old one on steroids. It has much more material and helped with the mindset shift to close bigger clients. It taught me to rise to the occasion even if a project seems out of my reach—you just say yes and then deliver.
What was the biggest technical challenge you faced?
It wasn’t technical; it was belief. You need to believe you can deliver, believe you can land the big whale client, and believe you can ask for that retainer. Technicalities like SEO, funnels, and avatar psychology are just background noise you can learn. The most challenging part is the confidence to reach out and say, “Pay me.”
Can non-native speakers find success in copywriting?
I am the proof. I am Italian, and my English isn’t perfect. I think in Italian so I may stutter or not find the perfect word, but it doesn’t matter. Copywriting should be simple, plain English. You don’t need a college degree. Clients care that you are a hard worker and a hustler who delivers results, not that you have a perfect accent.
What are three big lessons you’ve learned?
First is Speed. Do things today, not in seven days. Speed is related to our number one currency: time. Second is Bravery. You are in an ocean with sharks; you must be bold when talking to prospects. Third, business is not a zero-sum game. When you ask for 10k, you aren’t stealing. You are making them way more money than you are asking for. Everyone can win.
What do you say to people afraid of market saturation?
Saturation is for average players or losers. Saturation is actually a good thing because it means there is money in the market. All you need to do is be better than average. A world-class copywriter doesn’t fear saturation. Look at Starbucks—they didn’t invent anything; they just sell coffee but differently. Just be unique and professional.
Where do you see yourself in six months?
I want to scale from 10k to 100k. I want to use the money to meet new people and experience life at the highest level. I want to visit Qatar and stay at the best resorts. My friend and I are working with a big whale client to create a whole marketing universe for them—documentaries, blogs, and sales pages. I want to build an empire with my brothers.
